The Maurice D. Hinchey Catskill Interpretive Center is a partnership between the Catskill Center and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. Our staff and volunteers are on hand to welcome visitors to the Catskills, provide information and help you plan your Catskill adventure!

Make us your first visit when you arrive in the Catskill Park for the latest news, information and events! Plan your Catskill vacation and learn about the natural, recreational, cultural, agricultural and historical resources of the Catskills.

Generous financial support is provided by the New York City Department of Environmental Protection and Catskill Watershed Corporation with generous staff and volunteer support from Catskill Mountainkeeper, Catskill Mountain Club, Catskill 3500 Club, and the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference.

For too long the Catskill State Park was one of the only major state or national parks in the country without an Interpretive Center. I was determined to change that. It’s critically important to have a place where residents and visitors can learn about our unique natural, historical, and cultural resources. It will help preserve our rich heritage, keep our local economies strong, and our quality of life intact.
