Friends of Music of Stamford NY presents harpist Bridget Kibbey with the Sebastians

On Sunday, September 16, at 3PM, Friends of Music of Stamford NY presents harpist Bridget Kibbey with the Sebastians, playing the keyboard works of J.S. Bac, re-imagined for harp and string quartet.

This concert is funded in part by a decentralization grant from the New York State Council of the Arts, administered by the Roxbury Arts Group. Admission is by donation; the suggested donation is $12 per person, $6 for seniors & students. There is no charge for those under age 13. Cash or check only; no advance ticket sales or reservations.

Friends of Music offers a concert by an acclaimed ensemble on the third Sunday of every month. Performances are generously hosted by the Stamford United Methodist Church at 88 Main Street, Stamford, NY.  

The Sebastians are a much lauded dynamic and vital musical ensemble of more than 30 members, specializing in music of the baroque and classical eras. The Friends of Music performance features Daniel Lee (violin), Nicholas DiEugenio (violin), Kyle Miller (viola), and Ezra Seltzer (cello). The Sebastians are currently in residence at the Yale Collection of Musical Instruments.

In demand as a soloist and chamber musician alongside today’s top artists, harpist Bridget Kibbey is a recipient of an Avery Fisher Career Grant, the Classical Recording Foundation's Young Artist Award, a Salon de Virtuosi Grant, winner of Concert Artist Guild's International Competition, and Astral Artist Auditions.

Bridget is featured annually with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the Knights Chamber Orchestra, and Camerata Pacifica on the West Coast. She has appeared as soloist and chamber musician at the Bravo!Vail, Santa Fe, Spoleto, Chamber Music Northwest, Bridgehampton, Aspen, Bay Chamber, Pelotas, Savannah Music Festival, Music@Menlo Festivals, among others.


Ms. Kibbey's solo debut album, Love is Come Again, was named one of the Top Ten Releases by Time Out New York. Her solo performances have been broadcast on NPR's Performance Today, on New York's WQXR and Q2 Radio, WNYC's Soundcheck, WETA’s Front Row Washington, WRTI’s Crossover, and A&E's Breakfast with the Arts.


With a passion for expanding the scope and platform of the harp, Bridget spearheads and tours cross-genre collaborations that reignite an ancient instrument. She maintains harp studios at Bard Conservatory, The Juilliard School Pre-College Program, and The Curtis Young Artist Institute.


Bridget Kibbey and the Sebastians will play Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, Sonata for Flute/Clavier in E-Flat Major selections  from the Well-Tempered Clavier Book I, Sonata for Violin/Clavier in G Minor, Trio Sonata in G Major, and Concerto in A Major for Harpsichord.
