Opening this week at Margaretville’s Longyear Gallery is "Artists Choose Artists 2016," Longyear's seventh invitational show featuring the work of both Longyear Gallery members and some of their favorite guest artists working in different media.
The works on display will include local, regional, and city artists, each chosen by a gallery artist to create a dynamic visual dialogue for exhibition. This year's 21 invited artists include Luis Brindis, Hallie Cohen, Lou D'Amico, Missy DelVecchio, Robin Factor, Oneida Hammond, Mary Louise Hopkins, Judith Lamb, Anthony Manzo, Amy Masters, Nancy McShane, Richard Kirk Mills, Daniel O'Sullivan, Kari Pagnano, Roberta Samuels, Jessye Stein, Mina Teslaru, Nat Thomas, Katy Tischler, Lucinda Warchol, Ulla Warchol, and Peter Yamaoka. The work of these artists varies greatly, from the still life works in oil of Hamden artist Judith Lamb to the more abstract watercolors of Manhattan artist Hallie Cohen, as well as oil paintings by former Longyear members Amy Masters and Nat Thomas, and ceramics by Peter Yamaoka.
Friday, February 19th - Sunday, March 20, 2016
The Artists Reception will take place on Saturday, February 20th from 3-6 PM
