(EAST MEREDITH) A group photography show opens at the West Kortright Centre on Friday, June 22nd, with a reception from 5-7PM. This event is free and open to the public, with refreshments provided by Brewery Ommegang and The WKC. The exhibit runs through July 24th, viewable during West Kortright Centre events or by appointment during regular office hours.
Patrick Barnes will be showing a series of work that depicts Prattsville, NY in the wake of Hurricane Irene in the Fall of 2011. A native of Stamford, NY, Patrick received a BS in Still Photography from Ithaca College and a MA in Arts Administration from the University of New Orleans. He currently works and lives in New Orleans, LA, where he is a Curatorial Assistant at the Odgen Museum of Southern Art.
Gerry Gomez Pearlberg of Delaware County takes photos with her iPhone, mainly for the pleasure of stopping, staring, and lingering. She’s also a poet and author of Mr. Bluebird (University of Wisconsin Press) and Marianne Faithfull’s Cigarette (Cleis Press).
Tess Mayer is a freelance photographer and arts educator based in New York City, and a recent graduate of New York University Tisch School of the Arts. Her work consistently examines the many complex definitions of family and community.
