First-Person Singular: Writing Memoir and Essays with Sari Botton

WIM will present First-Person Singular: Writing Memoir and Essays with Sari Botton, March 8 to April 12, 2017. The class will be held Wednesdays, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the Kingston Writers' Studio, 275 Fair Street #11, Kingston, NY.

New York Times best-selling author, ghostwriter, and editor Sari Botton will help you write first-person narratives that can be stand-alone personal essays or part of a longer memoir you're writing. She'll also offer advice on publishing options. All levels are welcome. You'll have at least one short finished, polished piece by the end of six weeks.

Sari Botton is a writer and editor living in Kingston, NY. She edits personal essays for Longreads.com, and edited the award-winning anthology Goodbye to All That: Writers on Loving and Leaving New York and the follow-up New York Times best-seller Never Can Say Goodbye: Writers on Their Unshakable Love for New York. Sari has taught writing workshops at SUNY Ulster and SUNY Albany, and for TMI Project, a non-profit organization that gives voice to marginalized populations through true storytelling workshops, for which she is editorial director.
