On Wednesday, June 29, Marguerite Uhlmann-Bower, R.N., Herbalist, Wild Crafter and Forager of Weeds, Leaves, Seeds & Shoots will guide us on a wild foods foraging walk and talk at The Andes Rail Trail located on County Road 2 from 6:00 to 8:30.
Marguerite has been leading educational weed walks and medicinal plant walks for the last 20 years.
This community outreach program exemplifies how weeds are densely nutritious, what they can do for us and what we can do in return. The latter is thru a 'Music of the Plants' demonstration that bridges art, science, and technology in a fascinating and engaging experiential which begs the question 'just what is happening'. Relationships and research through story aims to inform the observer.
NOTE: In case of rain, bring rain gear; if a downpour, meet at Tavern'. A little rain never hurt anyone.
We suggest meeting at The Hunting Tavern and the carpooling to the Rail Trail. However, for those that wish to drive directly, below are the directions.
Directions:The Andes Rail Trail is on County Route 2 - Also know as Cabin Hill
Coming from Margaretville over Palmer Hill go past The Hunting Tavern, go through the blinking light and bear right to County Rt 2. Look for a white building on the left - park. The entrance to the Rail Trail will be just up the hill from there.
If coming from Delhi, at the blinking light in Andes make a right and at the triangle intersection stay to the right and follow the above directions.
Wear comfortable shoes and bring mosquito repellent.
