Meet @ 9:30am (Refreshments will be served)

Join local historians Gerry Stoner and Kristen Wyckoff for a guided tour of the Schoharie Reservoir to learn about the history of the reservoir, the building of the Gilboa Dam, the ancient Gilboa forest fossils, and more!

Beginning at 9:30am, there will be an optional pre-tour introduction at the Zadock Pratt Museum in Prattsville, where morning refreshments will be served, and guests will get the chance to see historical documents from the building of the Gilboa Dam. Receive introductions to the museum, exhibits, and the bus tour.

At 10:30am, the bus will depart for the Schoharie Reservoir. Enjoy a guided bus tour, with stops at designated pull-offs, and get to know the history and significance of the Schoharie Reservoir. Learn about the ancient forest fossils, the oldest fossilized forest on earth, on display outside of the Gilboa Historical Society Museum. Return to the Zadock Pratt Museum around 1:00pm.

Whether you live in the area, or are planning a trip to the Catskills, this is one bus tour you won’t want to miss. Participants will receive a complimentary tour booklet as a keepsake.
