Lighthouses Along the Hudson River

  • Vedder Research Library Coxsackie, NY

On Thursday, May 5th at the Vedder Research Library in Coxsackie, David Chinery will present a program on lighthouses along the Hudson River from north to south. The program begins at 7:00pm and will include a tour of the many lighthouses both past and present, using modern and historic photographs as well as picture postcards.

Mr. Chinery has a love of local history with a particular interest in lighthouses along the Hudson River. He received his BS from Rutgers Univeristy and MS from Ohio State University. He was the past President of the Historical Society of Esquatak where he further developed his interest in local history.

The program will be held in the reading room of the Greene County Historical Society’s Vedder Research Library located on the grounds of the Bronck Museum. The Bronck Museum is located just off US 9W 1.5 miles south of the intersection of routes 9W, 385, and 81 near Coxsackie. This program is free and open to the general public, but donations would be appreciated in support of the Beecher Scholarship – a $1,000 annual scholarship awarded to a Greene County senior high school student who writes a paper related to Greene County history.
