The Catskill Recreation Center, in cooperation with Overlook Mountain Bikes, welcomes you to the first Cross Mountain Crusher, a 55-mile gravel/road ride for the serious cyclist.

This event is not a race; it is designed for those who wish to challenge their physical abilities to the maximum while enjoying beautiful back country roads in the Catskill Mountains. The 55-mile course features five hefty hills and 5000’ feet of elevation gain, with portions of the ascent of Cross Mountain exceeding 20 percent. There will be feed station support –and mechanical and vehicular support as needed. Many of the gravel roads are seasonal roads, so rough climbing and descending should be expected. The Crusher also serves as timely stepping stone event for cyclists who plan on riding the Farmer’s Daughter Gravel Grinder in May.
The event starts and finishes at the Catskill Recreation Center (CRC). Participants receive a t-shirt, one free beer or other beverage, a day pass to the CRC, a half-price day pass for a friend, and a goodie bag. Post-ride food and beverage will be available to purchase. Registration on the day of the event will be 7:00-8:45 AM. The event begins at 9:00 am and is limited to 350 registrants. All event proceeds will support the Catskill Recreation Center and its programming, including the Catskill Mountain Cycling Challenge and the Youth Scholarship Fund.
