Nature Club - Animal Tracks, Signs & Adaptations

  • Maurice D. Hinchey Catskill Interpretive Center 5096 New York 28 Mount Tremper, NY, 12457 United States (map)

This week Excelsior Conservation Corps crew members will join us at Nature Club to present a special program on the tracks, signs and adaptations of Catskills wildlife!

Nature Club is our FREE weekly outdoor adventure program for kids. Explore the 62-acres of forest, wetlands, meadows and gardens at the Catskill Interpretive Center while you participate in different hands-on activities each week. Make a nature journal, track wildlife, identify stream “monsters” and more! Led by Catskill Center staff with special guest appearances by local experts.

Activities are especially geared for kids ages 4-7 or so, but all are welcome and will likely find their own fun ways to connect with the materials.

Please dress for comfort outside, rain or shine, in clothes that can get a little wet or muddy. The CIC trails are naturally fairly well sheltered but our junior explorers tend to be very good at finding puddles and streams! :) In case of any safety concerns due to weather, programs will be presented on the porch or under the pavilion, or if needbe inside the CIC building.

The CIC buildings and trails used for this program are fully accessible and stroller-friendly. Parking is easy, and our visitors center offers interactive exhibits, local area info, a gift shop, snacks, wifi and indoor bathrooms with changing tables.
