RiverWebs Film Screening with the AWSMP

  • Maurice D. Hinchey Catskill Interpretive Center 5096 New York 28 Mount Tremper, NY, 12457 United States (map)

Come out to the Catskill Interpretive Center for a screening of Riverwebs, an award-winning and important documentary on river ecosystems. Featured guest Leslie Zucker from the Ashokan Watershed Stream Management Program will share highlights of their work to protect stream health and water quality right here in our own community.

RiverWebs is an award-winning documentary from Freshwater Illustrated about river ecosystems and the science that explores them. The film follows the life and work of Dr. Shigeru Nakano as he attempted to understand how streams and forests depend on each other, and his team who carried on this work after his tragic death. RiverWebs illustrates the creative way that science works through observation, questioning, and experimentation, and emphasizes the partnerships and comradery that drive scientific discovery and often cross continents and cultures.
