Catskill Mountain Kids: Winter Survival

  • Maurice D. Hinchey Catskill Interpretive Center 5096 New York 28 Mount Tremper, NY, 12457 United States (map)

This week for our winter series of Catskill Mountain Kids our topic is Winter Survival! Come to hear about the essentials of human and animal survival and practice some useful outdoor skills!

Catskill Mountain Kids is a year-round weekday program that celebrates the nature, history, and culture of the Catskills. Each session will include some focused learning time, hands-on activities, and outdoor exploration. The program is geared for ages 4-7 but all are welcome. Please dress for the weather/being outside and the possibility of getting messy. Suggested donation is $2 per child and $5 for a family, your contribution goes towards supply costs and guest educators.

The Winter session will run for seven weeks and include programs with the following themes: Bird Feeders; Winter Survival; Snow & Ice; Baking & Candy Making; Animal Tracking; and Maple Syrup. We’d love to see families come back every week, but you can also feel free to pick & choose the dates that work for you.
