Nature Journaling

  • Maurice D. Hinchey Catskill Interpretive Center 5096 State Route 28 Mount Tremper, NY 12457 (map)

Get in touch with your creative side and try nature journaling. Join Catskill Interpretive Center staff Olivia and Kelli for an introduction to the basic practice of nature journaling and learn how sketching and writing about what you observe can enhance your experience in the outdoors. Take part in a short guided journaling activity before striking out on your own on the Catskill Interpretive Center’s property and trails to try out what you’ve learned.

The program is free and open to people of all ages and all artistic/writing experience. Beginners welcome!

Basic supplies will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own preferred materials (journals, pens, pencils, markers, watercolors, etc.). There are no requirements as to the types of supplies you need—bring whatever you have on hand or like best.

Participation is limited to 20 people. Please register at http://catskillslark.org/park_events/nature-journaling/

This event is presented as part of Lark in the Park, an annual celebration of the Catskill Park and region.
