Catskill Mountain Kids: Apples

  • Maurice D. Hinchey Catskill Interpretive Center 5096 State Route 28 Mount Tremper, NY 12457 US (map)

This week at Catskill Mountain Kids we’re talking about APPLES! Enjoy a bit of apple history and a short adventure to our wild apple trees, and learn about how apples grow and what makes heirloom varieties so special. But don’t take our word for it - try them yourself at our apple tasting!

Catskill Mountain Kids is a year-round weekly daytime program series that celebrates the nature, history and culture of the Catskills. Each session will include some focused learning time, hands-on activities, and outdoor exploration. The program is geared for ages 4-7 but all are welcome. Please dress for the weather/being outside and the possibility of getting messy.

The Fall session will run for five weeks and include programs with the following themes: Leaves; Apples; Homesteading; Hibernation; and Turkeys. We’d love to see families come back every week, but you can also feel free to pick & choose the dates that work for you.

Suggested donation: $2/child (max of $5/family), members free. Donations support the ongoing programs and operations of the Catskill Interpretive Center, a program of the Catskill Center nonprofit organization.
