Andy Mason of the Delaware-Otsego Audubon Soc. will lead a bird walk at the Catskill Interpretive Center in Mt. Tremper. The walk will explore a mix of Catskill habitats including forest, open land and streamside. Expected species include a variety of warblers such as Yellow, Black-throated Blue and Ovenbird, as well as thrushes, vireos, Scarlet Tanager, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Gray Catbird, and possibly raptors and waterfowl.
The walk will last approximately 2 hours and has some moderate climbing on trails. Participants should bring binoculars and a field guide if possible.
Andy Mason is Co-President of the Delaware-Otsego Audubon Soc., and has lead field trips in the Catskills for the Appalachian Mountain Club, the Delaware-Otsego Audubon Soc. and other groups.
