SPRING BIRDS IN THE CATSKILLS

A presentation on spring birds in the Catskills is scheduled for May 10, 6:30 p.m. in the Catskill Interpretive Center in Mt. Tremper.  The program will cover bird species expected to be seen at this time of year and through the summer in the region.  This includes returning neo-tropical migrants including a variety of warblers, thrushes, flycatchers, and such brilliant birds as Scarlet Tanager, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Baltimore Oriole and Indigo Bunting.
The program will include bird songs for a number of species and information on habitat and birding hints.
The presentation will be by Andy Mason, Co-President of the Delaware-Otsego Audubon Soc., who has lead field trips in the Catskills for the Appalachian Mountain Club, the Delaware-Otsego Audubon Soc. and other groups.
