This free, one-day workshop is a great opportunity to sharpen skills and learn how to prepare for a safe and enjoyable winter outing. The workshop is open to anyone interested in learning how to prepare for, and stay safe on a winter trip.
• Learn the 10 essentials you should have on any trip
• Learn have to adapt these essential items for winter
• Learn the hiker responsibility code.
• Develop the knowledge to be prepared for the unexpected
Demonstrations and discussions will provide information to help you prepare for the elements and the unexpected.

The Catskill Conservation Corps (Catskill CC) is a partnership between the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference, whose volunteers maintain a network of more than 2,000 miles of trails, including more than 200 miles in the Catskills. The Catskill CC aims to increase and support volunteer contributions on projects that protect natural resources and enhance outdoor recreation opportunities in the Catskill Mountains.
